thanks for your response. The project entails all of the above (replacing plumbing, insulation, and electrical) In my case It is an old house and 5 rooms is what I will be looking to "redo" (LR,DR,MBR,Kicthen,Bathroom). The kitchen and bathromm need to be gutted anyways, but people have been telling me that the walls in 3 other rooms can be skim coated. I see the point but I really want "new" walls, plus run updated electrical wires. I'm just worried that matching the wall depth will be a bigger job than anticipated. Also, what do yo mean "use existing lath to shim out the drywall"?
