French Drain

Posted by bruce on March 13th, 2004 02:06 AM

I live in Eastern Wa.

Iam prepering to put in a concrete drive way. Right now it is dirt.

There is a dirt hill with tree stumps. Very hard to get out. Then my driveway and then the house. The house is lowest.

So here is what I dediced to do. Dug out three feet of the hill. I have cut lots of roots. and dug them out. Then I will dig down 2 feet and fill the trench with 12 inches of stone then a drain line with frabic wrap then more stone up to the top. The drain line will go to a french drain pit.

Should this control the water run off from the drive way and the hill?

The rest of the hill will be raised plant box.

This should give me about two feet of stone to help drainage. What do you think shoould this work
