..Bruce..if your talking about doing this away from the driveway then it shouldn`t hurt--the further away the better IMO--I dunno if you have a basement but if so,ya may want to read a post of mine from March 6 2:12..."basement waterproofing"...its lengthy but I try to shed light on many myths about water"diverting". If you have a basement then before ya put a driveway in and spend the $$ you may want to do yourself a favor & waterproof the wall on that side correctly & forever from the outside! I`ve seen in my 20+ yrs of waterproofing from homeowner`s who done the Fr drain under a patio and/or under a driveway to divert water away from their home...that more than half of them had a 'collapse' or 'wash out' under that part of the drive/patio where the tile/pea stone was put in! Trying to run/divert water underground can weaken/loosen the ground underneath the drain tile.Think about it...GL!!
