Iwould recomend fiber-cement with a cedar woodgrain texture. It comes in a variety of widths, holds paint well, will not rot, termites will not eat it, and it will not burn. It has no fire rating because it is non-combustable. There are several manufacturers, but I recomend James Hardie. Pay close attention to the nailing instructions. I prefer blind nailing with a hot galvanized roofing nail.
