Help I think that my cat doesnt like my roommate

I have an 11 year old cat. I have had bootsie since he was a baby. I have recently taken in one of my classmates that has a dog and a cat. Bootsie has developed this terrible habit of going into her room and doing his thing. what can I do to break him of this? Please help Sheryl Mc Coy
