Bulging Underlayment Under New Floor

I just installed a new vinyl floor. I used brand new underlayment (Lauan plywood). The underlayment was flat when I installed the floor. About a day AFTER I put down the vinyl, the underlayment began bulging in spots. My guess is that the underlayment absorbed some moisture from the vinyl floor adhesive and swelled. Is this possible/likely? If so, will it eventually dry out and lay flat again?
