I had a Lennox furnace model G23Q 2/3-75-1 installed in Oct. 1993. In Nov. 1996 I had the ignition controls and PE module replaced.
Problems began to appear in Oct. 2003. The roll over switch began to trip off. This would occur whenever we set the thermostat down below 62 degrees and then went to reset it at a higher temperature. The roll over switch would trip off and have to be reset 2 to 3 times before the furnace would work properly.
After several visits by a representative of my service contractor the roll over switch was replaced. The problem still has not been corrected. One solution proposed by the contractor was to replace the heat exchanger at a cost of $800.
No one has been able to explain why the furnace will operate properly after the roll over switch has been reset two to three times.
I suspect there is another problem the contractor is unable to resolve. Does anyone have any suggestions?
