I too have had several Firestorm chargers burn out. Three different chargers died within the course of a few weeks. Only one lasted more than a couple of days. I've searched the Web for other indications of a problem and found many complaints about these chargers dying prematurely. I finally invested in a Dewalt 1 hour charger, but it cost more than the Firestorm drill kit itself.
