I'm building a Hold'Em Poker Table

Posted by Scott A. Keen on March 16th, 2004 01:30 AM

I'm building a Hold'Em Poker Table using most of the procedures from another guy's website. You can find his link and diagrams from my web page: http://www.scottkeen.com/poker/pokertable.asp

The dimensions are 96" long by 42" wide. I used 3/4" plywood (birch hardwood), for both the table and rail.

I will be using 1/4" closed cell foam padding for the table padding and bought 3 yards of velvet for the cover from the Jo-Ann fabric store.

The rail is going to be tricky to cover. I'm still building this and am wondering about the best way to cover the rail. I'm thinking to use 1" thick foam that is 7-1/4" wide so that it wraps around the inside, top, and outside edges of the rail, then cover it with overlapping vinyl sections. Does anyone with upholstery experience have a recommended way for making this padded rail?

Cheers!
Scott
