Basement Vapor Barrier Posted by Dan Biggerstaff on March 17th, 2004 12:54 PM In reply to Moisture Barrier by Floyd Otto on December 28th, 2000 11:40 AM [Go to top of thread]
Most everything that I have recently read, on the internet, building magazines, etc., as well as talking to a couple of builders, the most recent and popular vapor barrier today is 15# roofing paper. It is being installed 1/2" from the foundation on the back of the stud wall. In most cases, the insulation, faced, is then installed normally and it is drywalled. It makes sense to me. As I am about to install a bathroom in my basement, does anyone have any comments or suggestions for me? Was this post helpful? Yes: or No:
