Making your own electrical ground - using a radiator

Posted by Dave225 on March 18th, 2004 08:44 AM

I'm sure this has been asked before, but I can't find an old thread for it ...

What's your opinion about using a radiator to add a ground wire? This is in an old apartment - it's either ground-it-yourself or move.

Will the radiator provide a decent substitute? (the circuit can be tested with a polarity tester to ensure that the ground is connected.) The ground is going to be used only to plug in a power strip/ surge protector for computer equipment. So it's not drawing a huge amount of power. Damage to the computer is of some minor concern - safety is the bigger concern.

Thanks
