Black & Decker Table Saw and Dado?!

Through a good circumstance, I have aquired both an eight inch, direct drive Black and Decker & a Skil worm drive circular saw. Dicotomy aside, I would like to use the table saw to make Dado cuts - I can order the dado guard from Black and decker - what size Dado blades should I get - 8 inch or 6 inch? As should be obvious, I am a beginner and clueless on the proper set up. Can anyone suggest some good books on the "basics". Thanks in advance.
