You can do this yourself. The key to a good job is very thin coats. Use a 12" or 14" drywall knife, put it on and take it right off with the knife. You only want to fill the low spots and not have any build up on the flat surface of the drywall. Twice around the room and it should look pretty good. Lightly sand and prime. After priming, any defects that you missed should show up. Touch these up and spot prime.
