table saw truing

Is it really necessary to true a table saw? If it is how neurotic do I need to get to true the blade? There are dials and calipers and press gauges that seem to be priced from $45.00 to $450.00. Do the cheap ones work? Is there an EASY way of truing the blade without spending a lot of money? I'm completely disabled and want my work to be the best I can produce. But $50.00 is 10% of my monthly income so I'm left to my own logic and guesses.
