floor leveling

It sounds like you tried to correct a 1-1/2 inch difference in elevation with floor leveler compound. The compound was never intended for such a thick application and may be shrinking or cracking under the laminate causing your problem. The correct approach would be to build up an underlayment using plywood, or OSB to bring the floor to level, and use the floor leveling compound to ease any small remaining transition.

I think you are going to need to remove that section of floor to see what is happening. If the floor leveling compound has failed, it needs to be removed and a solid underlayment applied.
