I had a problem similar to that. the latch they said was faulty. with then caused the chip board to burn out. my washer was three months off warrenty. 15 monthes old. maytag would only pay for the part's and half the labour. I was stuck with a bill of 113.96 dollars in labour. I payed 2400.00 dollar's for this set. hoping that the magtag was a good product. and had good warrenty. I am sorely disapointed with them. you also have to get a maytag repair man to fix your product or they won't warranty it. if you phone there number's in there manual's you get the run around. you have to phone this number because this department doesn't take care of that problem. Or you get those damm voice messages were you have to listen to tghe messages and press the # for the problem you are having then if that can't fix it. you are put on hold until a representive is available to help you. and then half the time they can't help you.
