Masonite anywhere??

Posted by Andra on March 22nd, 2004 08:44 AM

I have Masonite siding on my house. We did receive a check for a settlement (not that it covers nearly what we'd have to pay to reside entire house).
Last October, we bit the bullet and paid a 'construction company' half down to reside the entire house with Hardiplank.
This jerk disappeared with our money. (We later found out we weren't the only ones he conned.)
Anyway..... there went our budget.
I only need 5 to 6 pieces of the 3 bevelled 12' planks to repair the damaged pieces. Most of the stuff is fine, just the stuff not covered by a soffett.
I cannot find this stuff anywhere! I know it's no longer made and hasn't been for quite a while, but I can't find any lumber companies around here with any in their backstock, leftover, trash pile, etc. I'm near Houston, Tx and would buy it and have it shipped if I could find a place that stocks it.
Does ANYONE know of anyplace that does?
There are two types of the 3 bevelled planks. Mine is the one that just looks like three 3inch planks overlapping, rather than the 3 overlap with a spacer (?). I'll try to find the exact code for the type I have if anyone can offer any help!
Thanks!
