use a color wheel to pick colors, get a decorating book or two from library, they have the wheel and instructions how to use for contrasting colorsd or shades, depending on the look you want

as far as woodwork, make sure you prime before you paint, use semigloss lates

make friends with people at local paint store, not home depot , they paint and advice is questionable at best and sucks usually

use ben moore paints and primers

cabinets painting is lots of work, make sure you get in writeing that that SOB landloard(they all are) aint gonna keep you security because you painted his wood cabinets

BTW painting the insides of cabinets is a real pain in your ass, so dont even try. even painting the outside you may wigh you never started, its sanding, prime and 2 coats at a minimum, sanding between coats for a exellent shine

never mind removing all handdles and hinges, painting doors on saws horswes for a profesional job

remember you have orange counter, nothing rymes with orange, how you gonna find a color that ryems

remember local paint store, and use a roller as much as you can . like a little john roller
