Hotpoint fryer

Posted by Pui Fan Lee on March 23rd, 2004 08:47 AM

I have a Hotpoint fryer I found in the trash on my street the other day. It is stainless steal and it has 2 baskets.

On the tag it says Hotpont fryer 208 Volts 1 faze. There's also a zipcode.
When I plugged it up it got hot.
It was all greasy and had some old oil in it, so I duped the oil pan and boiled some borax and bleach in it and scrubbed it with a sour pad. But there's still some old grease on it.

So, what I want to know is it an antique?

I did an internet search for Hotpoint fryer, but there no result. I sent them a letter to the address on it but letter was returned and a stamp said incorrect address.

How can I get the rest of the grease off?

I belive it's for a retaurant but I want to use it in my house cause I have a big family and once a month we make fish and fries.

Is it agains the law for me to use it?
