clicking noise when furnace is on

Hi. I hope you are able to help me. I own a tri-level home. For the past few months, when the furnace turns on, there is a clicking noise that seems to be coming from the ceiling at the lower part of my tri-level. Not down in the basement, where the furnace is located, but the next floor up. It seems to be concentrated in just one place. The clicking noise is pronounced at first, then quiets down. It clicks once about every 4 seconds. Any help you can provide?? Thanks
