I'm trying to lighten a family room. It is panneled with hickory wood--both family room & kitchen, and kitchen cabinets. i do not consider painting the panneling. The fireplace wall is a whole wall of used brick. Can I make a suitable compromise by painting the brick fireplace wall a lighter color?
