Concrete Floors

I'm needing to add a little grit (fine sand?) to my floor paint and need to know what would be a good ratio to add the sand. I know that more is not always better. I don't want to add so much that it will wear down, or lose any color. If there is a good rule of thumb, or a practiced way Please let me know.
Thanks
