AC Generators

I recently purchased a Craftsman 580-326700 AC Generator. It provides 2400 watts at 120 Volts which is perfect. However, the runtime is only 1.5 hours at full load or 2.5 hours at 1/4 load. The tank size is 3 quarts. How can I modify it to (say) 3 - 4 gallons in order to provide me with 6 - 8 hours run time. Thanks to all of you that answer Tom
