Will drywall work for a gazebo ceiling?

I'm planning an outdoor building, sort of like a gazebo, only a little bigger, and with a real roof. I'd like to hang a drywall ceiling, but I'm concerned that since the sides of the building are open to the elements, the drywall may not stand up to the moisture, wind etc.

Any ideas whether drywall would work, or whether there's a better material? Stucco?
