I am removing a closet the back of the closet wall is part of the carrying beam I would like to recess a beam into the second floor joist, The second floor has 2x6 joists 16 inches on center.
the span of the closet carrying beam is 12'6''
how many paralams should I put together to carry the upstairs joist.
