You will have to turn off the power to the indoor blower unit. Remove the panel that houses the blower motor. Stick your hand into the blower housing and rotate the blower wheel. It may have moved on the shaft and the wheel is scrapping on the housing, or the set screw came loose on the shaft.

Check to see if anything got into or near the blower wheel. You may need to remove the blower assembly from the cabinet. Check for loose or broken motor mount brackets.

The electrical motor itself may need replacing.

Perhaps the screws or bolts that hold the blower housing to the cabinet became loose and making this noise. If you could run the blower with the access panel removed would be an asset in finding the problem. Reassemble everything before restoring power to the unit.

If you do not feel confident working on this project, please don't and get a friend or hire someone that knows what their doing.
