I have been a faithful user of Craftsman tools for as long as I can remember. A few months ago I was given a Craftsman portable drill/screwdriver set. Great!! Great until the batteries gave out after very little use. But, no problem, it's a Craftsman tool, right?? Wrong. Turns out the batteries are not covered by warranty. OK, so I'll need to buy a new set of batteries...Not really. See...Sears doesn't carry replacement batteries for that tool. They may be (maybe) ordered ONLINE. Like everyone can get online and find the batteries they're looking for. But that's not all...The batteries may be $35-$40 each!! The advice of the Sears Associate was to buy another drill set!!!!! (I guess anyone can just throw away a $100 dollar tool every few months or so.) So, it boils down to Craftsman tools are not really lifetime guaranteed any more-they are use and throw away!!! That's not what we are led to believe in the adds that Mr. Vila so proudly hosts. Maybe he should look for another line to sponsor. Me, I'll go down to Home Depot and buy a good DeWalt tool. I know I can get anything I need for them right in the store.
