Howdy, my husband and I are redoing our kitchen. Cabinets, countertop, floor and backsplash. My husband does not want to start putting in the counters because he thinks that we need to cut out the drywall between the base and wall cabinest and put not hardy board, but something up screwed to the studs to put the tile on so that the tile is flush with the rest of the wall and the outlets. Do we need to cut out the drywall and place another type of board to the drywall? Should we not put the cabinets in until we have the drywall cut out and the other board in place? Or can we put the cabinets and counter in and then put the tile backsplash up with the extenders for the outlets? Do you put the tile on the drywall or do you put something else up that you put the tile on?
