Scott, if they really are small holes--3/32" or so max.--you can repair this like you would a spot where you set a finishing nail head. To do this, you get the wax based Minwax wood filler that comes in small bottles. There are many colors available and you will want to pick one--or two--that is as close to the table color as you can get. Using your finger first, and then a rag, mash the filler into a hole and rub it flush with a rag. You can further disguise them with Magic Marker to simulate grain lines if you need to. When the holes have come as close to disappearing as you think you can get them, mist a LIGHT coat of spray lacquer in an appropriate degree of shine onto the top. That will add a little protection to hold the repair and further blend it.
