Alternative? Posted by Kevin on March 29th, 2004 10:04 AM In reply to Building a hot tub deck by Jerry on March 28th, 2004 01:23 AM [Go to top of thread]
I'm in the same situation, I just found a hot tub (used) I plan to purchase from another homeowner. My plan was to place concrete paving blocks on the ground, set the tub frame on the blocks, and build a deck to the appropriate height around the tub.
It will be next to the rear wall of our house, and the ground slopes away from the area, so there won't be a problem with moisture/wet ground around & under the blocks.
Does this sound like a reasonable plan? It seems much better to me than trying to build a deck strong enough to safely hold the weight of the tub, water, & 5-6 people.
TIA,
