Recently I asked the question about 2x6's in my unfinished attic and how to make them stronger.
All the posts I received where great but I found some new news now that I've started to rip up the old flooring.
On the outside wall the 2x6s are not sitting on a header? They're just nailed into the 2x4 studs.
IS THIS NORMAL? if so how should I proceed in adding meat? I'd like to go the route of adding more 2x6s and not 2x8 or tens.
But with no outside wall header what to I do?
Sister a new 2x6 to the old one or nail the new 2x6 to the other side of the 2x4 stud?
