remove black stucky stuff from linoleum or wood floor

this happened in my kitchen when we wanted to get the tile off the floor. Find some old turkish towels, lay them on the black paper, pour water as hot as possible on the towels and leave overnight. In the morning I bunched up the towels with the goo and paper, sort of scrubbed the remaining with newspapers, then washed the floor. Found a beautiful maple floor under all this. Sanded and refinished with industrial epoxy coating, and now just use a Swiffer wet mop weekly. Was this post helpful? Yes: or No:
