I have painted almost all of my walls in my mobile home. I never once sanded any of them. I just primed them with Kilz and then painted. They look great and nothing has scraped or peeled them. Also if you have a little more time or budget. I took all the strips off the walls in my living room and taped and floated. I then had someone texture and paint it. It looks awesome!
