I had ceramic tile borders placed on a kitchen island. They are round with a deep groove in the center of the back. I have had to remove them because they were not put on correctly.

My problem is I need to be able to put the groved part over the edge of the island in order for it to remain attached. The grooved area is full of grout and I do not know how to remove it. The borders are approximately 10" long and I have already broken several of them in my attempts to remove it. Is there a solution you can soak them in?
