Just rented an apt. with an older model push-button Tappan stove. When I first moved in some kind of timer was on making a continuous winding sound. The oven wouldn't go on "bake". I figured this was the self-cleaning mode but couldn't get it to stop. The oven door wouldn't close but I finally got it to close. The light stays on all the time and though the annoying noise has stopped the oven still won't bake. Any advice?
