by bathtub you mean bath only? than perhaps you can use drywall with primer and 2 coats of alkyid paint your choice of color

on the other hand if you plan on taking any showers you cannot get away with any type of drywall that is manfactured to date, no matter what kind of paint you apply

showering would get the walls wet, wet walls need a waterproof(not vapor barrier) waterproof covering, either a surrond, tile or some other sort of accepted shower wall material

and BTW tomh there is no such animal as moisture resistant dry wall, its by the nature of the word (drywall) that moisture in going to damage it

there is greenboard and other vapor barrier(note vapor) drywall products that stop only steam on one extreme and just regualr humidity on the other

not any sort of moisture is accetable and will damage it, its only for vapors

i know you know this but the way you wrote moisture resistant a layman(or woman) may think it can stand up to splashing water, which it wont

BTW pam you can buy and install fiberglas shower surrond walls cheaply and easly your self with only some construction adhesive(tube glue), drill, razor knife, ruler, pencil and tube chaluking, it will look quite nice and last a long time, protecting your walls and home from the shower water

the hard part of the installation is removeing the handles from the shower/tub valves, if you can remove these handles, the rest of the job is very easy and should only take 3-4 hours and you can showeer the next day
