drying rough pine

I bought some pine lumber to build a picnic table. Should I let the lumber dry for a time or can I just plane, cut and build a table with it now.

I'm air drying 1x 8 top choice pine (interior lumber ) wide floors. I will be using horseshoe nails by Kris 4/6/04 10:46 AM
