Bart, to get some opinions, use the search feature here. This is one of the most commonly asked questions on the fix-it for'em. I think your main priority is to make sure your basement is dry. You can also search in the BBS in "basements and attics" You'll get a better idea. One poster made a good point a while back as to framing the walls. You should not nail or attach any framing to the walls per the uniform building code. I don't understand what you mean by venting??
