I wouldn't use another GAF shingle if they were the only shingle left on earth and the company paid me to install them.

I am a professional builder and have had nothing but trouble from GAF thru the years.

In my experience, GAF did nothing but pass the buck when it came to problems associated with the manufacturing process, blamed the wholesaler, wouldn't come to check out the damage and generally just stalled until I had to sue them and won.

Told them then, as I'm telling you now, that I would make it my professional business to let anyone who asks know how poorly they back their products.

The BIGGEST and final mistake they made was that I had problems with their Timberline's on my PERSONAL home and they STILL just tried to give me the shaft.

My advice: Run away from GAF and Timberline as fast as you can.

I have been using Tamkos and other brands ever since.

Given a choice between GAF and Tamko, there is no choice.

The only good shingle is Tamko.

Use Tamko.
