It depends entirely on your current load and your projected load. Regardless of size of the house, if what you have is entirely sufficient at the current time, and you have no plans for adding significant electrical loads, why bother with the trouble and expense? However, if you are remodeling anyway, then now may be the time to expand the elec. service.
