In reply to Pricing of Renewal Windows by Andersen by Katherine St. John on May 28th, 2003 02:42 PM [Go to top of thread]

We had some old wood windows replaced just three years ago with "name brand" vinyl windows. We spent at that time almost ten thousand dollars. Within just a few months water had seeped through to the inside of the house. The company who sold us the windows said they were installed wrong and completely tore up our house to redo them. Six more months and we noticed fogging on the inside of the glass. This time when we called. The number was disconnected. We complained to the Better Business Bureau. The manufacturer took no responsibility. Said it was the "dealers" fault. So after 3 tormenting years of these "top of the line vinyl windows" we had them replaced with Anderson renewal. What a difference! Anderson is great. Their people were professional. The pricing was more than the vinyl, but worth it. The house looks like it was built with the new windows. Ciompared to the mobile home look we had with the vinyl. We wish we had gone with Anderson the first time instead of flushing $10,000.
