Jason: Agree with previous answere by Jim. Just thought I'd ad my 2 cents. I ran into a case where the discharge line had considerable lift and the outgoing line had a lot of slant to the pump side. When the pump shut off a lot of the water returned to the sump. Installed a check valve and it sure helped....
