Sounds allright to me. The problem is that this trim metal comes on big rolls which the contractor carries and I personally haven't seen small amounts at Home Depot. (someone correct me if I missed it)
Also the contractor has a metal press that will make all these nice, neat, and straight bends and cuts to go around molding, etc. A tough job for a DIYer without it and have it look good.
