Removing the lino backing off concrete floors

I will be tiling the downstairs bathroom floor and was told to remove the old lino off the concrete floor. I have removed most of it but alot of the backing from the lino is still adhered to the floor. Is there something that will take this off or is it okay to leave some and put the tile right over it?
