I'm installing a bathfan and was convinced to run another wire instead of hooking to the existing light switch(which I originally wanted to do). So, I guess I'm gonna fish another cable #12/2 from the switchbox up to the fan; change the single switch to a dual switch, connect all the white wires together, connect all the grounds, and connect the supply black to one terminal of both switches(I think I'm supposed to use pigtails here). Then connect each of the blacks to their respective lights/fan at the opposite terminals. Now, my question is if I add a timer or humidistat into the mix, will this basic wiring scheme change, and how?? I'm gonna try to get this done tommorrow, I hope. I'd appreciate any and all help and guidance.
