Kathy, there is no guarantee on this at all, but what I would do is first put a sheet of plastic under the work area so any drips do not make the mess bigger, then dip a small (1/2" wide or so) into about a cat food or tuna sized can with denatured alcohol in it. The alcohol should be a solvent for the dye.

The biggest problem that you may have is making a bigger mess. You can pour the dirty solvent down the drain when it gets too dirty to work and start over but be sure you get it down the sink so you don't stain the sink. Run some water down then to dilute the alcohol. You may want to use some paper towels to blot the stain also. This is ok but blot and not rub. The alcohol could cause spontaneous combustion or just a big mess if you don't dispose of the towels properly. Let the toweling stay outside and so that the alcohol can TOTALLY evaporate--say for a day or so--before you put the toweling into anything that will restrict air circulation around it. The alcohol flumes are also flammable so work with all the open windows you can get and don't use anything nearby that has a flame (stove, furnace, water heater) or that can cause a spark (electric switch, electric motor).
