I am just adding my comments. I have not been satisfied with the paint either. Yes, by all means follow manufacturer's instructions. Well, three coats later, not to mention cost, I have not gotten a satisfactory coverage. The walls and ceiling were meticulously prepared. I have learned my lesson. It's back to Sears paint for me. In over thirty years of painting and renos, I have never had a problem with Sears. Another expensive paint that did not work for me are Benjamin Moore but the Behr paint has to be the worst result. If I had realized earlier that I wasn't getting the result I wanted, I could have returned the paint. I should have known better. The colour paint I used was Hint Mint in eggshell enamel and it was applied to clean, dry, primed walls and ceiling.
