We bought a 1939 home and damaged 3200 sq ft of original oak floors during the demilition of plaster walls for replacing plumbing and all electrical in the home. The floors have numerous surface scratches, but are in great shape otherwise. My patience is gone as is our budget! What can be used effectively to restore the moisture and shine to the surface of these floors without sanding and applying poly or water based sealers. Everything that I have used to clean with seems to leave white streaks. We are also living in the home now so poly treating is out of the question...specially for both stair cases!
