My sister has a 75 year old house with a sandstone foundation. Her insurance agent just called her up and said they wanted to come and look at the house. Apparently last year when they bought the house and got insurance on it the agent came out and took a photo of the house but that was it.
Now they checked the house and said the foundation was unsafe and were going to increase her insurance from $700 per year to $1500.00 per year. Can they do that?
Do you have any idea how much it would cost for her to replace the foundation?
