Seemingly from nowhere, a very strong and nasty odor developed, apparently from 1 corner of my daughters bedroom. I have checked to see if there was any standing water/moisture, as the smell is like mold or mildew. My wife seems to think it is a dead animal. How should I proceed? Would the mold smell develop suddenly? The house is 125+ yrs old and diificult to make secure from intrusion by animals.
